It was great to see all those classic games in one place. Some I played, others I didn't, and some of them I wrote :). It brings back a lot of happy memories. The ZX-Spectrum had its limits when it came to graphics so many of these games had to concentrate on gameplay. For anybody new to the Spectrum I recommend getting a decent Emulator, going to the World of Spectrum archive, and using this book to try out some classics.
This book is for 80s nostalgia fans and should be highly advised reading for modern game design students. These games are mostly from lone creatives writing what they thought would work, rather than companies run by accountants commissioning what they think will sell.
Note: This review will probably say Netherlands and not list me as a verified buyer. I moved from the UK and the author sent me a free copy. He didn't ask me to write this review, but having just published my own book I realise how important reviews are and I'm fixing an oversight.
